Tayba Elementary School is a
private, not-for-profit, full-time Islamic school for students from grades JK –
GR 8. We are seeking passionate educators who are experienced, vibrant and
knowledgeable. We are always in search of teachers to join our team of highly

Position: Vice Principal
Status: Full-time
Her/his duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Works under the direct guidance of the school principal, assisting the principal in a variety of ways: clerical, correspondence, coordinating, procedural:
- Streamline an effective administrative and management structure that can effectively utilize the resources to run day-to-day affairs of the school.
- Organize, coordinate, direct and supervise the work of all school staff including substitute and part-time teachers in collaboration with the School principal.
- Participate in and be responsible for recommendations for hiring of all instructional staff in conjunction with the School principal.
- Nurture and empower a diverse workforce providing equity of access to opportunity and achievement.
- Identify, train, advise and mentor future leaders, consistent with school needs.
- Utilize staff development structures within the school to empower staff to employ effective instructional strategies which support the learning needs of all students (e.g. peer mentoring, coaching).
- Maintain or direct the maintenance of records and files and the preparation of reports.
- Prepare and implement the timetable, class lists and schedules.
- Ensure the maintenance of good order and discipline at all times and places.
- Preparation and submission of government required documentation and reports.
- Ensure safe and healthy environment for students and staff at school.
- Educational planning, progress and performance of the school at large.
- Character Education of the month
- Assist in Extracurricular activities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Education or related field.
- Three (3) years successful educational management experience.
- Experience with/knowledge of current Canadian elementary school program(s) and procedures.
- Administrative experience in an Islamic school.
- A desire and capacity to work with children and young adults
- Good judgment
- Compassion and empathy
Desirable Qualifications
- Five (5) years successful teaching experience
- Teaching experience in an Islamic school in North America
- Sound knowledge of Islamic faith and practice.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Knowledge of additional languages (such as Arabic and French) is an asset.
- Strong research and teaching skills.
- Sound interpersonal skills with an emphasis on professionalism, compassion, patience and understanding.
- Ability to work as a leader of a team, with integrity, enthusiasm, initiative and confidence.
- An ability to uphold rules and regulations
- Flexibility to work in different environments, including but not limited to: classrooms, offices, buses, field trips, parent-teacher-faculty meetings, and official functions

Salary: Dependent upon experience and qualifications.

Ontario
Certified Teachers (Grade 1- Grade 8)
- Preferable to be registered with the Ontario College of Teachers. If you are not a registered OCT, we would still like to interview you!
- Knowledge of the Ontario Curriculum, up-to-date teaching practices, and is able to use a balance of teaching styles and current technologies.
- Able to integrate Quranic concepts, Islamic knowledge, hadith, Iman, Akhlaq into the regular Ontario Curriculum.
- Teaching experience.
- Models and encourages Islamic behavior.
- Works collaboratively with parents and administration.
- Demonstrates a passion for teaching and uses positive progressive discipline.
Kindergarten Teachers (ECE/ Montessori)
Key Responsibilities
- Provides a physically safe and emotionally supportive environment
- Provides positive social experiences
- Implement emergency procedures
- Attends to the child’s physical needs
- Actively participates in required training sessions within TES’s curriculum and professional development
- Provide age-appropriate programs to enhance the children’s cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development.
- Prepare weekly program plans meeting all requirements of the curriculum
- Daily observations
- Maintain child records
Quran
Hifth Teachers
- A Hafith of the Quran, preferable with an Ijaza
- Has experience teaching Tajweed and Tafseer in English to children
- Very patient and friendly with children
- Reliable and dedicated individual
- Able to manage a class of 15 or more students
- Willing to work closely with the Academics teacher for the integration of the Quranic concepts, Islamic knowledge, Iman, and Akhlaq into the regular Ontario Curriculum.
